Prints and Textures To Be Used for Garments

From the triangular shape I created a design involving triangles and various angles. This was a success and was to be an element I wanted to incorporate into my final designs.

My theme for this collection is Space. From this idea I researched into different elements relating to space. One area being the components used to make up the moon which consisted of metals. This really interested me to where I explored this idea and linked it to knitting with the chain like idea. The first man on the moon was in the 1960s. In researching this era, to came to head that the first paper dress was made. I found this very exciting and linked this idea into the art or origami where it came apparent that the main shape used for this art was the triangle. The shape is very edgey and appeal to me as well as my market level. With all of this in mind I created my moodboard to then design and gain my inspiration from.

Moodboard

As the brief indicated that we neede to design for Aspring/Summer, I immediately started thinking about the beach and surroundings of it. I gathered images and as I did so, I could see a sailor theme emerging. I used this as a key design element and theme to carry throughout my designs
