Hands on...

So I now have my design ready and I am so excited to start making and seeing my design come to life!!
Being a very visual person, I thought it would be best to create my pattern from the stand working in calico.
The calico fabric allowed me to work around the figure of the mannequin and manipulate the fabric to a best fit.
Once completing this, the calico pieces were copied onto paper to form my pattern for my garment
If you have a look in my gallery you will see me working away and see my toile taking shape.

Initial Designs

Lets get designing

From the moodboard and my main inspirational picture I thought I would develop a further moodboard expanding on the colours within the image as well as the whole idea of circles., but keeping it still within the spacey theme

Here is my developed moodboard which incorporates my final design

Welcome...

I have created the brand name BELLE to promote and market my garment.

After receiving a very interesting, exciting and adventurous brief for our final project my thoughts and creative juices started flowing with all sorts of ideas and designs.
I gathered various images which I felt related to the brief and started creating an initial moodboard and some of my first designs followed this.

Below is my inital moodbaord

My main inpiration was the image of abstract planets. I felt that the contrast of colours in the image was very striking and effective. The motion of circles in the image also became part of my inspiration and I knew from then I wanted to incorporate the motion in my design.
